I am an immigrant from Guyana, South America. As a child, I grew up with my mother. Our household was led by my grandmother and grandfather. But my grandmother was the matriarch. Her influence in my life reveals itself through my choice of occupation as a businessman and real estate broker. She drilled into my young mind the following words: If you own the land, then you own the country because there is a finite amount of land. A motto our family practiced as we owned and sold real estate in Guyana. As immigrants, we continued the family tradition in real estate as several of my uncles and cousins are involved in different aspects of the industry.
I am a real estate broker with three decades worth of deals under my belt. My journey began as a salesperson at George A Johnson Real Estate in 1986. This company was owned and operated by George A Johnson, my uncle.
In 1989, I worked briefly at Macklin & Associates. That same year, I boldly bought this company to expand its business. I dared to pursue my dreams and created my first family-owned business. To that end, I changed Macklin & Associates to RL Adams Realty, where the letters RL stood for Roger Lancelot. It is always worthwhile to pursue one’s dreams.
In 1993, after four years as a sole business owner, I joined in partnership with fellow friend and real estate colleague, David James. We jointly established RD Realty Consultants where the letters RD stands for Roger and David. Today, twenty-eight years later, our business partnership and relationship endure as we manage RD Realty Consultants. It pays to partner with an individual whose passion is like your own: real estate.
As a broker, I work with clients of many ethnicity. My experience entails buying, building, developing and reselling houses. My areas of expertise include residential real estate sales and listing, real estate management, foreclosure consulting and mortgage consulting. I help my clients purchase or sell their homes using my extensive expertise and knowledge of the New York real estate market. My clients include first time home buyers, multiple property owners along with investors. I pride myself on helping my clients bring their real estate vision to life whether through selling, renting, investing, buying, or developing.
